Just a little over a year, maybe a year and a half since his ex Nina Dobrev decided to quit the popular CW The Vampire Diaries it looks like Ian Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore) is following suit and quitting the long running drama. Reports are flying in that Ian hasn't been getting along with his fellow cast members and that he is struggling in his recent marriage to Nikki Reed (Twilight). However there is no confirmation of him quitting, but the writers and crew at The Vampire Diaries and The CW are ready for a time jump in season 8 if Ian does decide to quit and that is very apparent as they are including scenes from three years into the future in this current season, season 7. In my honest opinion however, I don't see the show lasting past season 8 if Ian does decide to make his exit and they do end up killing off Damon.
